And here we see it in its natural habitat.
It's been at the body shop (my dad's shop actually) for a week because I hit a deer going about 7mph, which of course barely dented the hood and cracked the plastic grilles and the clips that hold them into the bumper. Therefore, new hood, grilles and bumper. I treated it to carbon splitters because I've wanted them for a while anyhow. Also, fun fact: US spec M3s come with hideous amber reflectors in the bumper, which are now patched and completely gone. Sexy. As. Hell.
Here's another pic in some snow:

"And here we see it in its natural habitat."
That doesn't look like you're double parked in a handicapped spot.

You have my favorite M3. Sedan, those wheels, the carbon splitters. I assume it's a manual, and that color is sex.

No clear bra. They're tricky. I guess they're ok when installed by professionals but if the bumper gets bad in a couple years I'll just repaint it. Helps to have a body shop in the family!

Haha I have to agree with you, besides, a clear bra will yellow in a few years. You'll have some rock chips by then but a repaint would be about the same as the cost of putting 2 clear bras on.
I just can't get over how much I love your car. Hoon for me!!

Hey brother. I have a 2009 BMW 335i, and after reading a few of your posts, I would LOVE to pick your brain about it, or just hear some advice about things I should look for. I read yours was a tuned 07(?). I would love to know what was done to yours and what you would suggest for mine!! Thanks for the response bud...

My 335 had a higher flow replacement air filter (which fit in the stock sealed airbox), Cobb AP stage 1 tune for 93 octane and the BMW Performance exhaust mufflers. If I had kept the car, the next thing I would have wanted to do would be to add catless downpipes so that I could run the stage 2 tune. I think that would've been plenty for me in terms of power/sound. I sold the car because it had so many problems while I owned it that I didn't want to keep it out of warranty. They were probably all fixed by time I got rid of it, but I wanted to focus on track driving so the M3 made sense. In order to make a 335 a good track car it needs a lot of suspension work, better oil cooling and a limited slip diff. Gets to be serious money and I always wonder why people who do that don't just by an M3...

I see. Very informative. Could you maybe expand on the issues your car experienced?? So that I can keep an eye out for issues that may occur in the future?

You'll know if you have any of my issues. It went through 11 injectors - the issue there was always misfires. I needed a new starter because mine wouldn't dis-engage (it squealed like crazy on warm starts). I needed the left muffler replaced because the flapper valve failed and rattled around like a can of nickles (I then replaced the whole system with the performance exhaust, which rocked). The turbos needed to have the thicker actuator rods retrofit - shouldnt be a problem on the newer cars, you'll know it by excessive wastegate rattle. Also, unrelated to any manufacturing defect I'm sure, it needed a clutch at 56,000mi as a result of a) the clutch delay valve, which I happily removed and b) the previous owner drove it in shitty highway traffic and wore the clutch out.

shit........ I may need to get the muffler looked at.... I swear the one on the drivers side sounds like a dryer full of gravel on the tumble cycle..... Sounds very similar to what you dealt with...

You just need to install the BMW Performance exhaust =)

What's that gonna ballpark me do ya think?

I dunno. Got mine used for $850 I think, but then had to pay a shop to put it on. It's a clamp-on system but the OEM mufflers need to be cut off.

sounds like a solid 2k when all is said and done.... But compared to what my full D&D exhaust cost for my bike? Just a drop in the bucket..... Thanks for all your help bud!!
